Inishowen has received a second public-use defibrillator, thanks to the local Credit Union.

The defibrillator was installed at St Eugene’s Hall, Moville and is available 24/7 for when needed. The location waschosen due to its proximity to the popular Moville shore walk as well as being in close range to the centre of town. The first defibrillator was installed earlier this month at St Aengus National School, Bridgend.

Both defibrillators have been funded by the Inishowen Credit Union’s Community Fund, with more planned for the future.  Training is also being provided on how to use an AED for members of the public. The certified class is being provided by the Newtowncunningham Community First Responders group and the Red Cross and will be two hours long.

The defibrillator will be maintained and kept secure by the St Eugene Hall Committee. The committee also shared their appreciation for the Inishowen Credit Union for “using their community fund to give back in such an important way”.

Anyone interested in doing the AED training should all or text +353 83 813 2948 for moreinformation about the training.
