Jenni Doherty, owner of Little Acorns Bookstore, who will be the Festival Advisor at the upcoming Spread The Word Literary Festival being held at the Waterside Theatre between February 6 and 11.

Little Acorns Bookstore is the largest North-West independent bookstore based in Derry/Londonderry – With a collection of over 60,000 new and used books the store caters for the literary needs of all of those that visit her store. The store also hosts many literary events, readings and book launches and is due to open Ireland’s first Typewriter Museum this upcoming Spring.

When describing the upcoming festival, Ms Doherty said: “For writing and reading people often think they are a very solitary activity as you are solely engaged with a book. This [‘Spread The Word’ Literary Festival] is actually bringing it out of that solitary arena in a way that you can be sharing the reading and sharing the experience, by talking to the author that has written the books and finding out what stirred them or inspired their imagination.”
