Strabane will celebrate St Patricks Day with an array of music and drama activities on Sunday March 17.
The much-loved annual parade will depart from Melmount Road at the Holy Cross Primary School at 2pm. The parade will move to Bridge Street, Market Street, Abercorn Square, Railway Road and finish in Dock Street.
Families can enjoy free entertainment, arts and crafts and traditional live music at The Alley Theatre. Hearty homemade stew along with other light refreshments will also be available.
Speaking at the programme launch, Mayor Patricia Logue encouraged the public to get involved in the celebrations,
“The festivities are a real community effort with local businesses, organisations and performing groups working with Council’s Festival and Events team to bring you a varied programme that appeals to all the family.
“There’s lots to see and do so I’d encourage people to access the programme now and come out and celebrate the beginning of Spring and St Patrick’s Day on March 17th.”
As part of the wider programme of events for the Strabane Drama Festival the theatre will feature several amateur drama events. These will run from March 8 – 16. Bookings for the Drama Festival can be made via the Alley Box Office on 02871 384444 or by visiting www.alley-theatre.com
