Acclaimed investigative journalist Nick Waters is to give a talk and Masterclass at NWRC on Thursday March 9 from 11am until 2.30pm. He is the Senior Investigator at Bellingcat,
an investigative journalism group specialising in
fact-checking and open-source intelligence, publishing the
findings of both professional and citizen journalists.

Its
reports on the Russo-Ukrainian War, the Skripal and Alexei
Navalny poisonings, refugees and migrants in Europe, far-right
conspiracists, and the US Capitol attack have attracted
international attention. Bellingcat guides on how to conduct
open-source investigations are now essential reading for
journalists and journalism students.
Nick Waters is a senior investigator for Bellingcat and his work
has focused on the application of open source techniques to the
investigation of conflict. He was shortlisted for the 2018
European Press Prize.
If you would like to attend, please contact Tony Talbot at North
West Regional College to sign up: tony.talbot@nwrc.ac.uk
