A Halloween family fun run/walk is being organised as part of the 30th anniversary of Derry’s Children-in Crossfire charity.
The family-centred event on Saturday October31, starting at 10am,, will raise funds to support vulnerable children in Tanzania and Ethopia.
Richard Moore, chief executive of Children in Crossfire, said participants would walk or run a 2.5km route through St Columb’s Park, leaving from and returning to Ebrington Square.
‘There will be a live DJ and lots of entertainment, as well as some spooky scares along the way, so it promises to be a really memorable morning.
‘I encourage local families to get their costumes on and help raise funds for Children in Crossfire in a very enjoyable way.’ Mr Moore said.
The mayor of Derry City and Srabane District Council, Grace Ui Niallais said she was delighted to support the Halloween Family Fun Run. ‘We are celebrating two remarkable milestones – 30 years of Children in Crossfire and 40 years of Derry Halloween.
‘This fantastic family friendly event will be a fantastic morning of fun and fundraising. ‘I would encourage everyone, whether you’re from the city and district, or visiting for Halloween, to put on your best fancy-dress costume and join in on the 31st.
‘Every step taken will help support the incredible work of Children in Crossfire, so come along, have some fun and make a difference,’ she said.
Family/group bookings cost just £5 per person. Places can be booked now at https//www.childrenincrossfire.org/munchkins or by calling us on 02871269898
