Mayor of Derry City and Strabane, Grace Uí Niallais has expressed delight at the turnout for Culture Night.
Ms Uí Niallais said, “It was wonderful to see so many people out enjoying Culture Night and celebrating the creativity, talent and culture that make our city so special.
“The fantastic turnout and atmosphere throughout the evening highlighted the importance of our cultural venues and the vital role they play in community life.”
People of all ages turned out to enjoy the events the city had to offer last week, including poetry at the Guildhall as well as a spectacular choral performance, guided walks and trad music.
While the exhibitions showcased the city’s rich cultural offerings, it was the community spirit which created another memorable celebration of creativity and culture.
Ms Uí Niallais said a “huge thank you” to all the organisers, artists and performers who made the evening “such a special occasion”
