An illustrated talk by Greer Ellison will be one of the highlights at this year’s John Steinback Festival in Limavady. The 32-year-old award-winning producer and screenwriter originally from Bangor, will provide an insight into his film and media career during the event.
Festival founder Dougie Bartlett explains why they are delighted to have Greer feature in this year’s programme.
“He is a young man progressing extremely well in the production industry and has cut out a considerable career for himself.
“Plus, he was more than happy to contribute to the festival,” said Mr Bartlett.
Greer’s feature film Butterfly Kisses won him a Crystal Bear award for Best Film at the 2017 Berlin Film Festival. His other most recent writing credits include the horror film, What Remains of Us for Universal Studios, and How to Date Billy Walsh for Amazon Studios. He is also a writer for the Northern Irish crime drama Hope Street.
His business success includes being the co-founder of a London based film production company, Paradox House. Paradox provides a home for independent film writers in addition to being a creative video agency. Here his role is head of the development department. The company has produced films playing at Cannes, Sundance, Berlin and Toronto Film Festival.
