The Sinn Fein Ard Fheis (annual conference) will be held this weekend commencing Friday November 15 at 6pm in the Milllenium Forum in Derry. It concludes with the presidential address given by Mary Lou McDonald on Sunday November 16 at 8.30pm.
Sinn Fein will hope to welcome 2,000 members from all over Ireland. Many of the delegation will stay locally with others staying in the Inishowen peninsula.
The impending British general election, the future of a United Ireland, as well as Brexit will feature highly on the agenda.
Buncrana Senator Padraig Mac Loughlainn said, “ I hope the party will send a clear message to senior British political figures especially Boris Johnson, that the party completely rejects the implementation of a hard border on the island of Ireland.
He Added that ‘any Brexit would undermine the Good Friday Agreement’ and that he looks forward to working towards a ‘progressive United Ireland’ and to hearing the many issues that may arise at the conference.
